"Death Mask Frontal" is furnished with the paradox of JABRO’S “Contrast-Pair” of death-mask’s "opening blue eyes" AND "lively working decay of flesh", by questioning (in a philosophical way) the mortal end state of death symbolised with its documenting, two-dimensionally painted mask. Parallel to that given situation, "Griselda’s" face has to be seen as a crumbling-away, two-dimensional disc leaving empty beeswax pattern of rot. However, JABRO’S famous "Contrast-Pair" is here too confirmed by the antique doll’s disintegration through decompose, but supplied with still living, now slowly closing eyes, symbolising end state of movements of those, but opposing situations.
